Vajra (ヴァジュラ Vajura?) is a large tiger-like Aragami from God Eater and is a boss in both Project X Zone games.
Crosspedia Entries[]
Project X Zone[]
An Aragami that has an appearance and ferocity very much like a tiger. Although large in size it is agile enough to perform flips in the air.
As well as jumping in from long distance and attacking with its claws, it can fire lightning from the mantle growing from its back. Unlike other Aragami there is no environmentally adapted "Fallen" version of the Vagra, suggesting that it is already a highly adaptable creature.
Project X Zone 2[]
An Aragami with both appearance and a ferocity that remind one of a tiger.
Although large in size, it is agile enough to perform flips in the air. While it can easily leap over a long distance and slash with its claws, it can also fire lightning from the cape-like growth on its back.
Unlike other Aragami, there is no envirmonmentally-adapted "Fallen" version of the Vagra, suggesting that it is already a highly adaptable creature.
Gameplay[]
Project X Zone[]
The Vajras are recurring bosses in Project X Zone. They make their debut in Chapter 5: The God Eaters. A Vajra appears from the big distortion of a Shibuya's building, where Soma, Alisa and Vashyron went to the past, with Ogretails and monsters from Basel and proceeds the attack the heroes. However, it is destroyed.
A second Vajra appears in Chapter 12: Fury Sparks, along with some Ogretails, Gattusos, and Hysteric Purples, in the interior of the Fujisakura, a tree in the Endless Frontier. It is destroyed again, with no remarks from the heroes after defeat.
In Chapter 22: God, Man, and Demon, at the God-Eating Fool's Carrier, a server created by Feydooms in The World, based in Soma, Alisa, Lindow, Toma, Cyrille and Bruno's memories, Vajra appears with a swarm of angry Aragami after Bruno kicked a stone at it when being chased by the Aragami. As per usual, Vajra is taken down.
A fourth Vajra appears, this time in Akihabara with an even bigger swarm of Aragami in Chapter 30: City of Mercy. It is defeated once again, this time with the God Eaters remarking about their efforts to stop the Aragami.
Vajra's fifth encounter is in the Tower of Tarqaon's Interior in Chapter 36: Nemesis, where it and some Aragami, as well as Skeith and monsters from The World are cloned by Seth and Oros Phlox. However, this Vajra is destroyed preventing them from using it one more time to clone it. After defeating it, the God Eaters comment on how they should report this back to HQ, with Soma hesitating to do so because of how he feels about their doctor, Paylor Sakaki.
In Final Chapter: The Winged Wanderers, a Vajra clone created by Fused Meden attacks the heroes, along with clones of Coco ★ Tapioca, Astaroth, and Riemsianne. If Vajra is defeated before breaking the barrier or getting Meden to low health, it along with the three previously mentioned bosses will respawn.
Project X Zone 2[]
Vajra reappears in the sequel Project X Zone 2 as a recurring boss again, with it making its first appearance in Chapter 16: Thicker than Water, where it was seen at the Ice Blue Canyon under the command of a Marduk, a type of psion, along with several other Aragami. After it is destroyed, the God Eaters make a remark at how annoying it is for psions to attract large Aragami like a Vajra.
A second Vajra appears in Chapter 23: The Shade of the Night on board the Balrog with several more Aragami and another Marduk, this one having been created on the ship by M. Bison and dispatched by Tong Pooh to deal with the heroes. It is destroyed by the heroes as the God Eaters mention destroying the development dock before more can show up.
A third Vajra appears in Chapter 30: Way Beyond Good and Evil on the Wreckage Beach on the Fallen Arm with more Aragami and another Marduk, this one again having been created by M. Bison to keep the heroes at bay. Upon its destruction, Ciel and Nana mention the benefit of being surrounded by people strong enough to take it down.
A fourth Vajra appears in Chapter 36: The 99th Fragment in the Secret Hot Springs with several other Aragami and some Risen, this one once again having been created by M. Bison, who also arrived on the scene. After it is destroyed, the ladies comment on the possibility that it contaminated the hot springs.
A fifth and final Vajra appears in Chapter 41: The 101 Embryo Plan, this one a real one having been brought to the island with several other Aragami. It is destroyed by the heroes along with the rest of the Aragami.
