Pyron (パイロン Pairon?) is the primary antagonist of the Darkstalkers series. He appears as an enemy unit in Project X Zone 2.
Crosspedia Entry[]
An ultimate cosmic being from the planet Hellstorm. Immortal, with unimaginable power at his disposal, he could conceivably rule the universe.
In order to distract himself from the doldrums of his undying existence, he collects planets as a hobby. He also battles for the pure joy of it.
Enamored by Earth and its great variety of philosophies and capabilities, he descended to the planet in pursuit of an existence that would allow him to fulfill his desire for battle.
Intelligent but haughty, he views all life forms besides himself as lesser beings, which is rude, if possibly accurate.
His normal form is that of a vast amorphous galactic being, but he transforms to human size to conform to Earth rules.
Gameplay[]
Project X Zone 2[]
Pyron's first appearance is in Chapter 4: A Summons To Action, where appears near the Evocation Gate on the Island of Strays, though he wonders how his body was restored. Several Phantoms appear around him, which he decides to take control of. He uses his powers to open the Evocation Gate, but from it are summoned the heroes, among them Demitri Maximoff and Morrigan Aensland, who recognize him. He decides to fight the heroes to restore his power, but he is defeated. After he is defeated, Demitri asks how he returned to life, but he merely says that the universe willed him to return. He escapes through the power of the Evocation Gate, saying he plans on finding out how his return was possible.
Pyron's second appearance is in Chapter 13: The Second Coming of Valkyrie where he appears in the Fetus of God with several Phantoms from the Island of the Strays, and explains his arrival because the Fetus of God served as Jedah Dohma's "salvation of all worlds", so it is close to nearly every other world. He allows Lord Raptor to help him out after he tells him that he knows about the Fetus of God, though he suspects his true intentions. He is defeated by the heroes but says that he found something of even more interest.
Pyron's third appearance is in Chapter 19: The Call of the Evening with another army of Phantoms, where he plans to take the Chattes Noires, but the arrival of the heroes keeps him back. He does say that the world they are currently in is on a tipping point and he can see many seams in spacetime. As a result, his new fascination is in the golden chains that have been appearing in several worlds, as he senses that someone is searching for something which the golden chains are indicating. The heroes try to find out what he means and they defeat him. He is able to escape but he says that the "new world" will soon reveal itself, and it will be the perfect addition to his collection, but for now, he will look at a different world.
Pyron's fourth appearance is in Chapter 26: The Terror of Death Approaches where he appears in cyberspace, where he tells the heroes that he wants the shards they currently have on the Dragonturtle Mk. I. The heroes assume he knows how to trace the shards to their place of origin, but refuse to give them to him, so he decides to take them by force with an army of Phantoms, which he says were drawn to him of their own free will. He is defeated but says that fragments of the "world-changer" would have been a perfect addition to his collection. He also describes the fragments of one who once sought to connect disparate worlds, though their power is gone now. He cryptically says it is 'so close' before fleeing.
Pyron's fifth appearance is in Chapter 33: Dance with the Devil where he appears in Makai. He tells the heroes that Makai lies at the center of the disturbance that threatens the balance of the worlds since the other worlds are changing with Makai at the center of it all. He mentions that the worlds will collapse into one, which he plans on ruling. He brings forth an army of Phantoms straight from the Island of the Strays as he says that the balance of worlds is crumbling, but a world of chaos is what the world SHOULD be to bring certainty to the unknown. After he is defeated, he tells everyone that the time is drawing near and he plans to see it through at the appropriate location, and whether or not they will be there too, remains to be seen as he flees.
Pyron's sixth and final appearance is in the Final Chapter: Arisu in Destiny Land where he arrives in the Centipex, which he calls is the appropriate location and the destined time. He tells the heroes that once all of the worlds are combined, the newly combined world would serve as the crown jewel of his collection. Sadly he is defeated and his body is destroyed, but as much as he wanted to add the newly combined world to his collection, he will return to slumber, but he hopes none of the Darkstalkers will remain when he returns.
