Overview

"Treasure on the Horizon" is the fortieth chapter and forty-fifth overall chapter in Project X Zone. It is a fight between clones of bosses that became playable units.

Synopsis

Area: Koryuji Manor, Underground Chamber

Everyone arrives back at the manor. Mii says she found a flow coming from there and that's how she managed to get there. They prepare to examine the fountain, but it then slides down and reveals a hidden staircase. Everyone heads down and finds an underground chamber. They feel an intense power and find the Belanos Brothers and Due...along with the stolen Portalstone! Due explained that it seemed to work best in this location and that she was following the directions the stone gave them. Just then, a mysterious figure appeared before the heroes: Meden Traore, leader of Oros Phlox.

They then demonstrate the stone's power by making clones of Heihachi, Sänger, Juri, T-elos, Alisa B., and Saya. The originals were surprised by this, and Oros Phlox explains that the Portalstone takes images from the human mind and makes it real, resulting in even more clones appearing.

The culprits leave, and the clones are itching to kill. Not willing to go down without a fight, they decide to bash up the fakes and take back the Portalstone.

After defeating all the fakes, they got back the Portalstone. But when Mii approached the stone, it suddenly activated and a giant flash blinded the whole group...

Trivia

• This is the only chapter where every enemy is a boss.
• This is the first chapter since Prologue 1 where there are only two cutscenes.
• "Trauma Shadow" is a technique used by the alien Aerogaters in SRW: OG. It makes the opponent see whoever it faces look like their most hated foe.
• This is the only time where Sänger can be defeated and is the only time where he can use his multi-attack since the only other time fighting had him so with Yuri and Estelle only.
